Mad Poet
This painting was taken from a poem by Gennen Marie Haugen of Animas Valley Institute. I wrote a haiku about it and placed it on the painting.
Soul is Mad Poet
His head sprouting vines and leaves
Eyes rapt and flaming
Songbirds flying from his mouth
Comet woven cape
Symphony of wolf and loons
Coyotes and stone
Cactus mosses and flowers
Kingdom of Heaven is Like
From a sermon reading of Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52, Be Thou My Vision (Hymn), 1 Kings 3:5-12, Psalm 119:129-136, and Romans 8:26-39.
Spiritual Sicily
This is an acrylic painting of a spiritual theme in one of Tarn Eyl’s classes. It started off as just the center painting, which was supposed to be of Lucia that I saw on a building in Sicily. It morphed into 3 paintings of other scenes I found in Sicilian churches during a trip there in 2024. The figures are photographs that I glued onto the canvas and detailed around them. See more on this on my Process page at this link.
Angel Wings
This is an acrylic painting of angel wings that I did at a class at the Reeves House. It was completely painted in 2 hours during the class.
This is an acrylic painting of a word theme in Tarn Eyl’s class. I picked some spiritual words to detail out, such as In The Beginning, Rejoice, Abundance, Impermanence. I was trying to connect the words vertically and horizontally, like with Mythopoetic, Upmost, Aye and Doubt as well as Rejoice, Abundance, Bodhisattva and Tjubinga (tubing). See the black woman at the upper left looking at The Word. In the bottom right is a person talking to a space alien about Messianic Secrets.
