Fisherman’s Wharf

My Dad had a skiff underneath this wharf in Monterey CA. There was a trap door on the wharf where we’d climb down a ladder to a series of walkways underneath to get to our hanging skiff. We’d lower it and row out to our Zobi, which was a 26′ Salmon Trawler. Then we’d go fish for salmon in Monterey Bay. You can see drawings of a pulley and hook that held the skiff in my about section at this link.

Hummingbird

This is one of my first watercolor and acrylic paintings that I took a screenshot of a video to use as my inspiration. The bright color are watercolor and the black, white and grey are acrylic. See more of this painting on my Process page at this link.

Mountain & Valley

This was an acrylic painting of a photo that grabbed my interest. I gifted this to my son Mike & daughter-in-law Stephanie.

Advent Calendar

This is from one of my first classes with Tarn Eyl at the Woodstock Senior Center Painting Club.

She was teaching us how to paint trees and we had to come up with our own scene around them. Since it was Advent at the time, I gave it a calendar theme by adding three Christmas Gift Tags that opened like an Advent Calendar. The top is Winter Wonderland, the middle is Sees for the deer looking around, and the last one is Delight. These were my first painted clouds along with a contrail in the sky. This ended up a multimedia painting.
